In the cafe scene, McGarrett and Grover argue the merits of coconut syrup or blueberry on pancakes. We didn't do this but certainly enjoyed our pancakes.
The waitress kindly took some photos of us sitting in the booth where the scene was filmed.
After breakfast we drove out to Hanauma bay. It's a beautiful bay created by volcanic activity and subsequent erosion causing a shallow bay. The bay is teeming with fish and coral life so is a great place to go snorkeling.
After Hanauma bay we drove back to Waikiki via Diamond head. We didn't have time to go trekking so took obligatory photos of the view and went back to our apartment to get ready to go to a luau that evening.
In the evening we went to a luau hosted by Hilton Waikiki.
The luau was a Hawaiian traditional night where we ate some Hawaiian food and watched dancing and singing performances that tell something of the history or culture of Hawaii. The costumes the performers wore also showed a bit of the history and culture of Hawaii.
We were able to get some temporary tattoos and mine was a hibiscus which is the national flower.
